Underground water pipe leak detection in Aylesbury

Another busy spell tackling hidden water issues across London and the Home Counties. Our engineers spent their time using specialist gear to find where water was escaping, ranging from little internal drips that have become a nuisance, right through to tracing main supply lines running underground.

We certainly covered the ground in the capital. In various spots across London, we were called in to diagnose things like minor pressure drops in central heating systems; often, these are caused by a small, slow weep somewhere in the pipework that’s hard to spot otherwise. Down towards Biggin Hill, the hunt was on for a suspected leak on an external supply pipe, which always needs careful acoustic listening to pinpoint exactly where to dig. We also assisted with an investigation in a residential building in North London.

Heading beyond the M25, we were out near Chichester, where we successfully located the source of a leak affecting a commercial property’s main feed. We also had investigations near Aylesbury and over in Wiltshire this week. Both of those jobs focused squarely on diagnosing suspected escapes on buried water lines, meaning we relied heavily on pressure testing and sensitive listening gear to confirm the exact spot the water was getting out underground. There was also a call-out near Slough to investigate a potential leak source.

It was a proper mix this week: some straightforward diagnostics inside the building, balanced by the more involved work of tracing those buried services outside. The main goal, as always, was getting the right diagnostic confirmation straight away to prevent any needless digging or wasted time for the property owner.
